Instructions

  • Step-by-Step Instructions:
  • Prepare the Chicken:
  • Start by placing the boneless, skinless chicken breasts at the bottom of your slow cooker. If you’re using frozen chicken, no worries! You can add it straight to the pot. Just be sure to adjust the cooking time slightly to account for the frozen meat.
  • Mix the Creamy Sauce:
  • In a medium bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir everything together until it’s nice and smooth. This is your creamy, flavorful sauce that will coat the chicken and broccoli.
  • Add the Broccoli:
  • Once your sauce is mixed, layer the broccoli florets over the chicken in the slow cooker. Don’t worry if the broccoli isn’t fully submerged—the steam will cook it perfectly while the chicken simmers.
  • Pour the Sauce:
  • Pour the creamy mixture over the chicken and broccoli. Spread it out evenly with a spoon to ensure everything is well-coated. This step is where all the magic happens as the sauce melds into the chicken and veggies during cooking.
  • Top with Cheese:
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese on top. The more cheese, the better, right? This cheesy layer will melt beautifully, creating that irresistible gooey texture we all love.
  • Slow Cook:
  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 4-5 hours or high heat for 2-3 hours. The chicken should be tender and fully cooked through. It’s ready when it easily shreds with a fork.
  • Make the Crispy Topping:
  • While the chicken divan is cooking, crush the Ritz crackers into small crumbs. Melt the butter and mix it with the crushed crackers. Once the chicken is done, sprinkle the buttery cracker mixture over the top of the dish for that crispy, golden finish.
  • Serve & Enjoy:
  • Once the topping is added, cover the slow cooker again and let it cook for an additional 10-15 minutes until the crackers are golden and crispy. Serve it hot, and watch your family’s eyes light up when they dig in!
